On Saturday the 24 Feb evening Idris Elba hosted the 30th Screen Actors Guild Awards 2024, which were dominated by “Oppenheimer” bagging the most coveted awards like Best Male actor and Supporting Male actor awards, which were won by Cillian Murphy and Robert Downey Jr. respectively. While Lily Gladstone won Best actress award for “Killers of the Flower Moon”, the Best supporting actress award went to Joy Randolph for “The Holdovers. HBO’s “Succession” was named best ensemble in a drama, FX’s “The Bear,” earned a best comedy series ensemble prize, “The Crown” star Elizabeth Debicki got leading actress in a drama series for her work as Princess Diana, while Pedro Pascal won for his performance in “The Last of Us.”
“The Bear” actor Jeremy Allen White was named best actor in a comedy series for a second time in a year. Ayo Edebiri won best leading actress in a comedy. Steven Yeun and Ali Wong, who co-starred in “Beef” as two strangers won the top acting awards for a TV movie or limited series. all four of them won Emmys and Golden Globe Awards recently for their work.
Barbra Streisand, the veteran singer, actress, producer and director, received life achievement award in Screen Actor’s Guild Awards.
“The Breaking Bad” cast presented the best ensemble in a Drama series award to “Succession“
The comedy hit show cast “The Modern Family” presented the award to “The Bear“for best comedy ensemble.
While the cast of “Devil Wears Prada” movie gave away the statue to “Jeremy Allen White” for The Bear .
