The 2015 Pulitzer winning novel ” The Sympathizer” by Viet Thanh Nguyen, is now being made into a spy comedy dark mini series by the same name, which will go on air on HBO and live stream on Max from 4 April 24 onwards.
At the end of the Vietnam war, a captain played by Hoa Xuande a half French and half Vietnamese who works for Communist’s starts working as a spying on his own government and military at the behest of CIA, caught up in this act how does he cope with his emotions, threat and loyalty is the crux of this mini series.
Robert Downey Jr. who co produces this show also plays several supporting roles as spy’s handler etc.
