Martin Scorsese, is nominated for Best Director category for the movie “Killers of the Flower Moon”in 2023 Academy Award honors, probably one of the greatest movie directors of our time, has made some of the most iconic films.
Martin Charles Scorsese( born November 17, 1942) is an American filmmaker. He surfaced as one of the major numbers of the New Hollywood period. He has entered numerous accolades, including an Academy Award, four BAFTA Awards, three Emmy Awards, a Grammy Award, and three Golden Globe Awards.
He has been recognized with the AFI Life Achievement Award in 1997, the Film Society of Lincoln Center homage in 1998, the Kennedy Center Honor in 2007, the CecilB. DeMille Award in 2010, and the BAFTA Fellowship in 2012. Four of his flicks have been instated into the National Film Registry by the Library of Congress as” culturally, historically or aesthetically significant”.
Scorsese entered a Master of trades degree from New York University’s Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development in 1968. His managerial debut, Who is That Knocking at My Door( 1967), was accepted into the Chicago Film Festival. In the 1970s and 1980s decades, Scorsese’s flicks, important told by his Italian- American background and parenting in New York City, center on macho- posturing men and explore crime, manhood, nihilism, and unqualified generalities of guilt and redemption.

His other flicks include After Hours( 1985), The Color of Money( 1986), The Last Temptation of Christ( 1988), The Age of Innocence( 1993), Kundun( 1997), Hugo( 2011), and Silence( 2016).
In addition to film, Scorsese has directed occurrences for some TV series including the HBO series Boardwalk Empire( 2011 – 2015), and Vinyl( 2016), as well as the HBO talkie Public Speaking( 2010), and the Netflix docu- series Pretend It’s a City( 2021). He’s also known for several gemstone music pictures including The Last Waltz( 1978), No Direction Home( 2005), Shine a Light( 2008), and George Harrison Living in the Material World( 2011).
An advocate for film preservation and restoration, he innovated three nonprofit associations The Film Foundation in 1990, the World Cinema Foundation in 2007, and the African Film Heritage Project in 2017. His movie book includes his early movies “Mean Streets in 1973, about how the life exists in Little Italy, Scorsese saw his big commercial success in “Taxi Driver” in 1976 followed by “Raging Bull” in 80, with these two movies Robert Deniro also attained Super Star Status. Scorsese, by then he was one of the top director of his time.
Though he then delivered lack luster films like “After Hours” in 85 and “The Color of Money” in 86. and “The Last Temptation of Christ” in 88, His “Goodfellas” in 1990 was break away success , attained cult status. Further his directorial films like “Casino in 1995, “Gangs of New York” in 2002 and The Aviator in 2004 – made him achieve superb director tag furthermore he helped stars like Leonardo Dicaprio a leading Hollywood star with great versatility.
Somehow the Academy awards eluded him as Scorsese was nominated nominated 5 times for Best Director category, he however finally won the coveted Award for his exceptional Irish gangster thriller, “The Departed in 2006, further he went on to direct Shutter Islnad in 2010, Wolf of the Wall street in 2013 both with Leonardo in lead & Irishman in 2019 with Robert Deniro & Al Pacino.
Will this time the Killers of the Flower Moon which is based on the best seller by David Grann’s titled Killers of the Flower Moon: The Osage Murders and the Birth of the FBI.
